Formin 2 pseudogene 1 (FMN2P1) is a human pseudogene, meaning it is a genomic DNA sequence similar to a gene but nonfunctional; it does not encode a functional protein product[5][7]. FMN2P1 is related in sequence to the protein-coding gene Formin 2 (FMN2), which encodes an actin-regulating protein involved in cytoskeletal organization and stress responses, but FMN2P1 itself is not known to perform any biological function and is not implicated as a drug target or biomarker[5][7].
