Formin-binding protein 4 (FNBP4) is a eukaryotic scaffold protein featuring two WW domains that specifically bind proline-rich sequences in formin homology 1 domains of formin proteins such as FMN1. FNBP4 plays an important role in regulating actin cytoskeletal dynamics and is implicated in developmental processes including limb formation, likely by modulating formin interactions and potentially BMP signaling pathways. It is evolutionarily conserved and may also participate in protein stabilization and transcript processing, but its full physiological functions and pathological roles remain largely unexplored. No drugs or biomarkers are currently associated with FNBP4, and it is not a classic therapeutic target
