FOXN3 antisense RNA 1 (FOXN3-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located near genomic regions associated with cancer risk, especially in breast cancer and acute myeloid leukemia (AML)[2][4]. FOXN3-AS1 is significantly upregulated in breast cancer tissues compared to normal tissues, with expression levels correlating with tumor size and malignancy, suggesting its use as a diagnostic biomarker[2]. In AML, FOXN3-AS1 shows prognostic significance, and its expression is sensitive to DNMT1 inhibition, implicating it in epigenetic regulatory pathways[4]. Mechanistic data are emerging, but FOXN3-AS1 is not considered a traditional therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme; rather, it is an RNA biomolecule with regulatory roles. There are currently no drugs that directly target FOXN3-AS1, but its expression may be modulated indirectly by epigenetic drugs. Further research is required to fully define its molecular roles and potential as a therapeutic or diagnostic target.
