FOXN3 antisense RNA 2 (FOXN3-AS2) is an uncharacterized long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is not a canonical protein-coding gene. It is transcribed antisense to the FOXN3 gene and is catalogued with Entrez Gene ID 29018. Its function as a biological target or receptor has not been well established in the current scientific literature, and its biological roles, involvement in disease, and potential as a therapeutic target remain undefined in primary sources. Most available references indicate its transcript nature, with expression described in tissues including excitatory neuronal cells. There is currently no evidence that FOXN3-AS2 serves as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or that it interacts with drugs. It should not be confused with the protein-coding gene FOXN3 (which is a transcription factor involved in tumor suppression, cell cycle regulation, and metabolic control), as their functions do not overlap based on current annotations.
