Free Fatty Acid Receptor 2 (FFAR2), also known as GPR43, is a G-protein coupled receptor primarily activated by short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) like acetate, propionate, and butyrate. It plays a key role in glucose/insulin regulation, immune modulation, and lipid metabolism. FFAR2 is considered a therapeutic target for metabolic disorders such as diabetes and obesity.
