Target intelligence / Profile preview
Frizzled receptor 5 (FZD5) is a member of the Frizzled family of G protein-coupled receptors that serve as receptors for Wnt signaling proteins. FZD5 plays a crucial role in embryonic development, stem cell regulation, neuronal development, and angiogenesis. It activates both canonical (β-catenin-dependent) and non-canonical (planar cell polarity, calcium, JNK) signaling pathways. FZD5 is overexpressed in several cancers, contributing to tumorigenesis and cancer progression.
