FXYD domain containing ion transport regulator 6 pseudogene 1 (FXYD6P1) is a non-functional genomic DNA segment located on human chromosome 10, derived from duplication or retrotransposition of the functional FXYD6 gene and now considered a pseudogene. Like most pseudogenes, it shares sequence similarity with a protein-coding gene but has lost the ability to code for a functional protein due to disabling mutations such as frameshifts or premature stop codons.
