Overview

FYN binding protein 2 (FYB2) is a protein-coding gene product and adapter protein involved in T-cell receptor signaling and cell adhesion, especially in the immunological synapse and membrane raft domains of T cells. FYB2 plays a non-enzymatic role in amplifying or coordinating signals during T cell activation and mediates integrin-dependent adhesion. It is closely related to FYB1 (another adapter protein) and operates downstream of TCR ligation but is not currently considered a direct therapeutic target. Mutations or changes in FYB2 are associated with certain minor immune phenotypes, but its direct implications in major diseases or as a druggable target have not been established.
