Target intelligence / Profile preview
G antigen 12D (GAGE12D) is a member of the GAGE family of cancer/testis antigens, proteins typically expressed in a wide range of cancers but not in most normal tissues except for testis[4][1]. These antigens are immunogenic and often involved in mechanisms of immune evasion and resistance to apoptosis, facilitating tumor cell survival and proliferation[1]. GAGE12D and related family members are being explored as potential immunotherapeutic targets due to their restricted expression in cancer and recognition by immune cells. However, data specific to GAGE12D itself are limited, with most studies and candidate therapies focusing on the broader GAGE or cancer/testis antigen family[4][1]. There are no currently approved drugs that specifically target GAGE12D, but it remains an investigational target for cancer diagnosis and immunotherapy.
Not directly established for drugs (as GAGE12D is an antigen, immune therapies such as cancer vaccines may be developed to target its expression in tumors, similar to other cancer/testis antigens)
