Target intelligence / Profile preview
G protein-coupled receptor 166, pseudogene (GPR166P), is officially classified as a pseudogene in the human genome. While it shares sequence homology with true G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), particularly the growth hormone secretagogue receptor family, it is not known to encode a functional receptor protein and therefore does not participate in canonical receptor signaling or function as a therapeutic target. It differs from the functional receptor GHSR (growth hormone secretagogue receptor 1a), which is a bona fide drug target. No biological function, disease association, or drug interactions are currently attributed to this gene.
