G protein-coupled receptor 63 (GPR63) is an orphan seven-transmembrane receptor encoded by the GPR63 gene in humans. It is part of the Class A (rhodopsin-like) family of G protein-coupled receptors and is predicted to be involved in classical GPCR-mediated signal transduction pathways through heterotrimeric G proteins. While its endogenous ligand and physiological role are unknown, GPR63 is expressed in the brain and may play a role in neuronal signaling. There is preliminary evidence linking GPR63 to the migration and stemness of cancer cells, particularly in colorectal cancer, as well as associations with certain developmental and neurological disorders. However, its detailed functions and roles in disease remain largely uncharacterized[2][3][4][5][6][8].
