Pseudogenes are stretches of DNA that resemble functional genes but are noncoding and do not produce functional proteins. GPR89P is not known to encode a protein and there is no evidence that it functions as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any other therapeutic target. It is also known as C11H1.2-Lp. There are no reported biological functions, disease associations, drug interactions, or biomarker roles for this pseudogene. The similarity in name to functional G protein-coupled receptors (such as GPR89A/B) may cause confusion, but it should not be considered a valid drug target[2][4][6][7].
