Overview
The Gag polyprotein is a precursor protein crucial for HIV-1 virion assembly and maturation. It contains multiple domains, including the p24 capsid protein (CA), which forms the conical core of the virion. p24 is essential for maintaining viral structural integrity and packaging the viral genome.
