The GALNT7 divergent transcript (GALNT7-DT) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene that is classified as a divergent transcript due to its close genomic proximity and transcription on the opposite strand of the GALNT7 protein-coding gene. LncRNAs such as GALNT7-DT do not code for a protein and generally function through RNA-mediated regulatory mechanisms, which may include regulating the expression of adjacent protein-coding genes.
