Gamma Delta T Cell Receptor Vγ9Vδ2 (Vγ9Vδ2 TCR)

Target
Vγ9Vδ2 TCR
Molecular classification
Receptor, T Cell Receptor
01

Overview

The Vγ9Vδ2 T cell receptor (TCR) is the most prevalent γδ TCR variant in human peripheral blood, expressed by a major subset of γδ T cells, known as Vγ9Vδ2 T cells. It plays crucial roles in immune surveillance against infections and tumors by recognizing phosphoantigens presented by BTN3A1, independently of MHC molecules. Upon activation, Vγ9Vδ2 T cells exert direct cytotoxic effects, produce pro-inflammatory cytokines, and function as antigen-presenting cells, making them promising targets for cancer immunotherapy and anti-infective therapies.
