Ganglionic Neuron

Molecular classification
Neuron, Nerve Cell
01

Overview

A ganglionic neuron is a nerve cell located within a ganglion in the peripheral nervous system (PNS). It acts as a relay point for neural signals, transmitting information from preganglionic fibers to postganglionic fibers in both sensory and autonomic pathways. Ganglionic neurons are essential for mediating voluntary sensation/motor control and involuntary/autonomic processes.
