Gastrointestinal tract gas bubbles are accumulations of gaseous substances within the lumen of the digestive system, including the stomach, small intestine, and large intestine. These gas bubbles are not a molecule or receptor in the traditional biochemical sense but rather physical entities composed primarily of various gases produced or introduced during digestion and other gastrointestinal processes. They consist mainly of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and methane and are a normal byproduct of digestion; however, excessive accumulation can cause discomfort and clinical symptoms.
Simethicone: Decreases the surface tension of gas bubbles, causing them to coalesce for easier passage. Alpha-galactosidase: Hydrolyzes certain complex carbohydrates, reducing fermentation by gut bacteria.
