Overview
GATA1 is a zinc finger transcription factor essential for the differentiation and maturation of erythroid cells and megakaryocytes. It plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during hematopoiesis. Loss or suppression of GATA1 leads to impaired megakaryocyte development, accumulation of immature cells, and can contribute to the development of leukemia.
