GATM antisense RNA 1

Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), Natural antisense transcript (NAT)
01

Overview

GATM antisense RNA 1 is a natural antisense transcript (NAT) and a member of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) family, transcribed from the strand complementary to the GATM (Glycine amidinotransferase) gene locus. Antisense lncRNAs typically regulate the expression of their associated “sense” genes through a variety of mechanisms, such as blocking transcription, influencing RNA stability, or guiding epigenetic modifications[1][2][3][6]. There is currently no evidence that GATM antisense RNA 1 serves as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or is directly associated with disease or drug action.
