Target intelligence / Profile preview
GBX2 and ASB18 antisense RNA 1 (GBX2-AS1, AC079135.1) is a human long non-coding RNA gene located on chromosome 2 (genomic loci: chr2:236163968-236431663, hg38). It is transcribed as an antisense RNA relative to the GBX2 and ASB18 genes. No protein product is encoded. The biological functions of GBX2-AS1 remain uncharacterized, but, like other lncRNAs, it may play a regulatory role in gene expression. There are no data supporting its candidacy as a therapeutic target or its involvement in specific diseases as of this writing.
