Target intelligence / Profile preview
GD2 ganglioside is a disialoganglioside highly expressed on tumors of neuroectodermal origin, including neuroblastoma, melanoma, and small cell lung cancer. It plays a role in tumor cell survival, growth, adhesion, and metastasis. Its restricted expression in normal tissues makes it an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy, including monoclonal antibodies, CAR-T cells, and antibody-drug conjugates.
Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC), direct induction of apoptosis, delivery of cytotoxic payload (in ADCs)
