Gene expression via siRNA-mediated inhibition is a process where small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecules are used to selectively silence specific genes. This exploits the natural RNA interference (RNAi) pathway to degrade mRNA, preventing protein translation. The process involves Dicer processing dsRNA into siRNA, RISC loading and guide strand selection, and target mRNA cleavage by Argonaute proteins.
