General transcription factor IIIA pseudogene 2 (GTF3AP2) is a human gene classified as a pseudogene, meaning it does not encode a functional protein product. It is named for its genomic similarity to the general transcription factor IIIA (GTF3A) gene, but unlike GTF3A, GTF3AP2 is not expressed as a functional protein and its biological role, if any, remains unclear[7][8]. The name and abbreviation are correct, but it is a pseudogene, thus generally excluded from lists of actionable drug targets. There is no evidence for function, disease relevance, or druggability in current biomedical literature[7][8][6].
