General transcription factor IIIC subunit 2 (GTF3C2) is a protein component of the transcription factor IIIC (TFIIIC) complex, which is essential for RNA polymerase III-mediated transcription. GTF3C2 contributes to DNA binding and the assembly of the transcription initiation complex on tRNA genes and other small RNA genes transcribed by RNA polymerase III. This protein contains WD40 repeats, a structural motif involved in protein–protein interactions, and is predominantly localized to the nucleus as part of the TFIIIC complex. There is currently no evidence it serves as a therapeutic target or interacts with any approved drugs[1][2][3][4][5][7][8].
