GLCCI1 divergent transcript (GLCCI1-DT)

GLCCI1 divergent transcript (GLCCI1-DT) is an approved long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene (HGNC:40852), transcribed from a genomic locus near the GLCCI1 gene but does not encode a protein. It is not considered a therapeutic target. There is currently no published evidence that GLCCI1-DT functions as a receptor, enzyme, or other canonical drug target, nor any data connecting it with disease mechanisms, therapeutic intervention, or known pharmacological modulation. Its function, tissue specificity, biological role, and disease associations remain uncharacterized in the scientific literature. It is often confused with GLCCI1, the protein-coding gene implicated in glucocorticoid response and asthma pharmacogenomics, but GLCCI1-DT has no known roles in disease or drug interaction and no ascribed biological roles or safety concerns.
