Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor family receptor alpha-3 (GFRα3) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface receptor and a member of the GDNF receptor family. It functions as a co-receptor with RET tyrosine kinase to transduce signals from its ligand, Artemin, into intracellular responses, affecting neuronal survival, differentiation, migration, and tissue maturation. In the absence of RET, signaling can also occur via NCAM. It plays a role in development and has been implicated in cancer.
