The glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor (GFRα) is a key component of the signaling complex for glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), a protein crucial for neuronal survival and development. Upon ligand binding, GFRα forms a complex with RET tyrosine kinase, triggering intracellular signaling cascades.
