It is transcribed from the opposite (antisense) strand of the GLIPR1 locus and belongs to the class of antisense RNAs, which are implicated in gene regulation, typically by hybridizing to complementary messenger RNAs or recruiting protein complexes that influence gene expression and chromatin state.
