GLIPR1 antisense RNA 1 (GLIPR1-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene in Homo sapiens, first annotated as RP11-585P4.5. It is transcribed from the opposite (antisense) strand of the GLIPR1 locus and belongs to the class of antisense RNAs, which are implicated in gene regulation, typically by hybridizing to complementary messenger RNAs or recruiting protein complexes that influence gene expression and chromatin state. While antisense lncRNAs play important roles in regulating fundamental cellular processes and are often dysregulated in disease contexts (notably various cancers), no specific functional or disease association has been reported for GLIPR1-AS1 as of current curated databases.
