Global immune cell populations refer to the collective assembly of specialized cells that constitute the immune system, including lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells), myeloid cells (monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes), and dendritic cells (Janeway's Immunobiology, 9th ed.). Because this term encompasses a vast array of distinct cell types and signaling pathways, it is considered too broad to be a specific therapeutic target in a molecular sense.
