Overview
Globo H is a globo-series glycosphingolipid antigen highly expressed on the outer membrane of various epithelial cancer cells. It is a tumor-associated carbohydrate antigen (TACA) with minimal expression in normal adult tissues, making it an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy. It plays roles in cell adhesion, signal transduction, and embryonic stem cell differentiation. Targeting Globo H may disrupt key survival signaling pathways in cancer cells and reduce tumor growth/metastatic potential.
