Glucoside xylosyltransferase 1 pseudogene 6 (GXYLT1P6) is a non-protein-coding genomic element classified as a pseudogene of the GXYLT1 gene. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences similar to functional genes but contain mutations, deletions, or insertions that render them incapable of encoding functional proteins. While some pseudogenes can act as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) or influence gene regulation via various mechanisms, there are currently no published data demonstrating a specific function, disease association, or druggability for GXYLT1P6. Research on the parent gene, GXYLT1, shows functional roles in glycosylation and pathogenesis of some cancers, but these do not directly extend to its pseudogenes[5][1][2][3].
