Overview

Glutamate-rich protein 6 (ERICH6) is a nuclear protein encoded by the ERICH6 gene, located on chromosome 3. It is expressed selectively in spermatogonia in the testis and is associated by annotation with certain neurological disorders, such as Giant Axonal Neuropathy 2 and Pyruvate Dehydrogenase E1-Alpha Deficiency[3][7]. The biological function of ERICH6 remains largely uncharacterized, though recent evidence suggests its antisense transcript (ERICH6.AS1) may play a role in modulating immune responses and serve as a prognostic biomarker in cancers such as cervical squamous cell carcinoma[1].
