Target intelligence / Profile preview
Glutaredoxin 3 pseudogene 2 (GLRX3P2) is a noncoding segment of DNA homologous to the functional glutaredoxin 3 gene. As a pseudogene, GLRX3P2 does not encode a functional protein product, and there is no evidence for its involvement in cellular redox processes, health, or disease. Pseudogenes generally arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and accumulate mutations that render them nonfunctional. While some pseudogenes are transcribed and may regulate related genes at the RNA level, there is no documented specific function or disease association for GLRX3P2.
