Glutathione peroxidase pseudogene 2 (GPX1P2) is classified as a pseudogene of the glutathione peroxidase family. It does not encode an active enzyme or functional protein and is therefore not considered a biological or therapeutic target. No protein product, enzymatic function, or biological activity has been attributed to GPX1P2, and it is not involved in known physiological or disease mechanisms. It should NOT be confused with the functional genes such as glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) or glutathione peroxidase 2 (GPX2)[1][2][3]. As a pseudogene, GPX1P2 has no known direct biological function, therapeutic implications, or classic molecular classification other than "Other." Therefore, the "is_target" field is false, and the "is_incorrect" field is true for most practical target databases.
