Gluten-specific T cell receptors (TCRs) are specialized receptors expressed on the surface of T cells that recognize gluten-derived peptides presented by HLA class II molecules, particularly HLA-DQ2.5 and HLA-DQ8. These TCRs play a central role in the pathogenesis of celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by dietary gluten. The unique sequence features, especially TRAV26–1/TRBV7–2 pairing with the R-motif, make these receptors promising biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets.
