**Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase pseudogene 20** (GAPDHP20) is a non-coding genomic sequence classified as a pseudogene, related by sequence homology to the functional gene encoding the metabolic enzyme glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH)[5]. GAPDHP20 is located on the X chromosome short arm and, like other pseudogenes, it does not generate a functional protein. Pseudogenes such as GAPDHP20 are generally considered non-functional remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events, and they are not known to have biological activity, disease association, or druggability[5].
