Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase pseudogene 22 is a processed pseudogene in humans that shares sequence similarity with the protein-coding gene glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH). Unlike GAPDH, which encodes a well-known metabolic enzyme involved in glycolysis, GAPDHP22 does not encode a functional protein due to mutations or truncations acquired during evolution. It is not involved in cellular or physiological processes and is not a therapeutic target.
