Human and animal genomes contain numerous GAPDH-related pseudogenes, particularly due to retrotransposition events, reflecting evolutionary genome changes rather than coding for a functional protein[2][3][7]. There are no known disease roles, interacting drugs, or use as biomarkers for this specific pseudogene.
