Pseudogenes like GAPDHP59 may still be transcribed and, in some instances, produce noncoding RNAs that can regulate parental gene expression or participate in other gene regulatory networks; however, there are no reports of such function for this specific pseudogene. GAPDHP59 is not a receptor, enzyme, or known molecular target and is not used in therapeutic strategies[1][2][3].
