Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain-containing protein 2 (GDPD2) is a membrane-bound enzyme belonging to the glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase family. It functions at the cell surface as an extracellular phospholipase C, selectively hydrolyzing glycerophosphoinositol and lysophospholipids to produce inositol 1-phosphate and glycerol, thereby modulating lipid mediator balance.
