Glycoprotein NMB (GPNMB) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion, migration, differentiation, and bone remodeling. It is overexpressed in several cancers and plays a role in immune modulation and inflammation. As a therapeutic target, GPNMB is being explored for cancer immunotherapy using antibody-drug conjugates. It is also implicated in cardiovascular repair following myocardial infarction, suggesting potential therapeutic applications in regenerative medicine.
