GNB1 divergent transcript (GNB1-DT) is a human long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located near the protein-coding GNB1 gene. According to the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee, "divergent transcripts" are a class of long non-coding RNAs that reside within a short genomic distance of a protein-coding gene, typically in a head-to-head (divergent) orientation, and may have regulatory potential. There is minimal published functional or clinical information about GNB1-DT. Some gene databases incorrectly alias GNB1-DT with "collagen alpha-2(VIII) chain," which actually refers to the COL8A2 protein unrelated to GNB1-DT. There are no known drugs, biomarkers, or established therapeutic relevance for GNB1-DT.
