Overview

GOLGA2 pseudogene 11 (GOLGA2P11) is an annotated pseudogene in the human genome[3]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically non-functional due to mutations, deletions, or lack of regulatory elements. GOLGA2P11 is related by sequence to the GOLGA2 (Golgin A2) gene, which encodes a cis-Golgi matrix protein involved in Golgi apparatus structure and protein transport[2][4][5]. However, unlike GOLGA2, the pseudogene GOLGA2P11 is not translated into a functional protein and has no described molecular or therapeutic role. There are currently no reports indicating GOLGA2P11 is an active receptor, enzyme, transporter, or part of any disease pathway relevant to drug discovery[3].
