Overview

GOLGA2 pseudogene 7 is a processed pseudogene located on human chromosome 15 (chr15: 84,198,846-84,230,169, hg38). As a pseudogene, it is a DNA sequence similar to the functional GOLGA2 gene but generally considered non-coding, lacking the capacity to encode a functional protein product[5][7][8]. Pseudogenes, including GOLGA2P7, are commonly regarded as genetic relics that arose from duplication or retrotransposition events. While some pseudogenes can regulate their parental genes through competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) mechanisms or by acting as miRNA decoys[4], there are currently no published data specifically supporting such a function for GOLGA2P7 in the human genome. GOLGA2P7 is not a pharmacological or biological target, and inclusion as a therapeutic target is incorrect based on all current evidence[5][7][8].
