GOLGA4 antisense RNA 1 (GOLGA4-AS1)

Target
GOLGA4-AS1
Molecular classification
Antisense RNA, Long non-coding RNA

Overview

GOLGA4 antisense RNA 1 (GOLGA4-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA transcript located in the human genome. It is transcribed on the opposite strand of the GOLGA4 gene locus and is classified as a non-protein-coding RNA. Like other antisense RNAs, its principal molecular function is likely to be the post-transcriptional regulation of its sense partner gene, GOLGA4, possibly through mechanisms such as RNA-RNA interactions that affect mRNA stability or translation. To date, there are no specific drugs, known mechanisms of action for pharmacological targeting, or established clinical biomarker roles for GOLGA4-AS1. There is also no evidence that it directly serves as a therapeutic target, nor are there notable safety concerns documented in the scientific literature[1][2][6].
