Target intelligence / Profile preview
Golgi-associated RAB2 interactor protein 4 (GARIN4) is a cytoplasmic protein encoded by the GARIN4 gene. It contains an N-terminal Rab-binding domain and interacts specifically with the small GTPase Rab2B, playing a crucial role in maintaining the compacted architecture and integrity of the Golgi body. Knockdown of GARIN4 disrupts Golgi structure, reflecting its essential function in intracellular vesicular trafficking and organelle maintenance. GARIN4 is a member of the FAM71 family and does not belong to recognized therapeutic target classes like receptors, enzymes, or ion channels. There are currently no known drugs or biomarkers associated with GARIN4, and it is not established as a therapeutic drug target[1][3][5][8][11].
