Golgi SNAP receptor complex member 1 (GOSR1) is a membrane trafficking protein essential for transporting proteins from the ER to the Golgi and between Golgi compartments. As a t-SNARE, it is a key component in vesicle fusion during protein transport within the secretory pathway. It also may play a protective role in neuronal cells against oxidative stress by regulating reactive oxygen species, mediated through p38 MAPK inhibition. GOSR1 is associated with rare congenital disorders of glycosylation and has been implicated in certain neurodegenerative processes, but it is not recognized as a classical drug target or therapeutic receptor in current pharmacological practice[1][2][3][4][5].
