Overview

Golgin subfamily A member 6-like protein 4 (GOLGA6L4) is a poorly characterized protein encoded by the GOLGA6L4 gene in humans, located on chromosome 15q25[1][7]. It belongs to the golgin family of proteins, which are generally associated with the Golgi apparatus and thought to contribute to the maintenance of Golgi structure and involvement in vesicular trafficking[4]. The gene has multiple splice variants and several paralogues in the human genome, but its biological function and clinical significance have not been established in published literature[1][4]. Common gene/protein databases (Ensembl, UniProt, GeneCards) list GOLGA6L4 as a protein-coding gene with limited functional annotation, and there is no current evidence linking it to drug targeting, human disease, biomarker utility, or safety considerations[1][3][7][8].
