Golgin subfamily A member 6A (GOLGA6A) is a member of the golgin family, a group of coiled-coil proteins that localize to the Golgi apparatus and play roles in maintaining Golgi structure and in vesicle tethering. The GOLGA6A gene is located on chromosome 15 and encodes a protein expressed predominantly in testis, especially within seminiferous tubules and spermatids, suggesting a potential role in spermatogenesis. The protein enables protein binding and is thought to have a structural function related to the Golgi apparatus. GOLGA6A is not considered a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor. There are no known associated drugs, mechanisms of drug action, biomarker uses, or documented safety concerns for this molecule[1][2][4][5].
