Overview
Gonadotropin release describes the highly regulated process by which LH and FSH are secreted from pituitary cells under control from hypothalamic pulses of GnRH. The precise patterning—frequency/amplitude—of these pulses determines downstream effects on reproduction. Disruption at any level can lead to significant clinical consequences ranging from infertility to endocrine tumors.
